Sojitz Korea Corporation is a 100% subsidiary of Sojitz Corporation, which was formed as a result of the merger between two Japanese trading companies, Nissho Iwai Corporation and Nichimen Corporation in 2004. Both of these companies have an incredibly long history dating back more than 150 years, and our business has helped and supported the development of economies and societies in countless countries and regions throughout the world. Today, Sojitz Group has more than 400 subsidiaries and affiliates located in Japan and abroad, with operations in roughly 50 countries and regions.
Initially established in 1962, Sojitz Korea Corporation, currently has two business groups, namely the Business Development Group and Chemicals Business Group, which are both supported by the Administration & Planning Group. We are engaged in a wide range of business activities that include buying, selling, importing, and exporting goods, providing services, and project-based business that utilize our planning and coordination capabilities in Korea and overseas. Sojitz Group also has an investment and financing capacity applicable to various business sectors and industries.
